Joseph Yobo gives up own goal to seal Nigeria’s fate (Video)
France are one of the favorites to win the 2014 World Cup, and they advanced to the quarterfinals with a 2-0 win over Nigeria on Monday. France’s first goal didn’t come until the 79th minute, but Nigeria sealed its own fate with an own goal in stoppage time.
Nigeria’s Joseph Yobo got tangled up with his own goalkeeper while trying to make a play on a crossed ball, and it ended up going off his leg and into the net. It initially looked like a French player made a nifty play to redirect the ball, but replays clearly showed that he never touched it.
Don’t feel bad, Joseph — this guy knows exactly how you feel.
