Twitter reacts in delight to Carlos Valderrama’s hair
Colombia defeated Poland with an emphatic 3-0 victory on Sunday at the FIFA World Cup, and Twitter was simply delighted to see one of the country’s most iconic soccer players in attendance — with the same hairstyle he wore in the 1990s.
The legendary midfielder, arguably Colombia’s greatest ever player, was in attendance at Sunday’s game alongside another former Colombian standout, goalkeeper Rene Higuita. Naturally, they both enjoyed the show — and so did Twitter, as Valderrama’s memorable blonde hairstyle hasn’t changed a bit in the last twenty years, even though the man who wears it is now in his 50s.

FUN fact: A couple of months ago he promised to shave his head if #COL win the World Cup.
Another FUN fact: He watched #COLJPN with his wife – who has exactly the same hairdo. pic.twitter.com/DJ4ifH4oKQ

At this point Carlos Valderrama has to be wearing a wig, right? If not, I have follicular envy

Love that Higuita and Valderrama have the same haircuts since the 90s. Maybe I should've persisted with my horrific step cut of '95 #POLCOL pic.twitter.com/g4p5QjuiRb

TV pictures suggest, Carlos Valderrama and @higuitarene still have better hair than any player at this year's World Cup. That's some achievement. #POLCOL pic.twitter.com/7blb1Bzm2p

Soccer players often indulge themselves with unique and flamboyant haircuts. None match this. When you’re El Pibe, though, you can do whatever you want.
