Finn Balor relinquished his WWE Universal Champion belt on Monday a day after winning it at SummerSlam because the Demon King suffered a torn labrum in the match.
Balor was thrown into a barricade on a powerbomb by Seth Rollins during their match on Sunday and immediately was in pain. His shoulder dislocated but he popped it back in place. Balor finished the match but ended up undergoing an MRI, which determined he had the torn labrum in his shoulder.
Balor is likely to miss around six months. He came out at the start of RAW on Monday night wearing a sling, but he reassured fans he would be back and better than ever.
Rollins is coming under some scrutiny too for causing the injury. It’s not the first time one of his throws has left a fellow wrestler injured; Sting was hurt by Rollins in a career-ending match.
