Wrestling fans have apparently had enough of Hulk Hogan, and the WWE icon learned that the hard way on Monday night.
Hogan made a surprise appearance during WWE’s “Monday Night Raw” on Monday night, which was broadcast live on Netflix for the first time. Hogan emerged from the tunnel at Intuit Dome in Inglewood, Calif., with his longtime on-screen manager Jimmy Hart. The nearly 20,000 fans in attendance mercilessly drowned Hogan in boos.
Prior to the event, Hogan and WWE announced that The Hulkster’s beer company, Real American Beer, had entered into a multi-year partnership that coincides with “Raw” moving to Netflix.
Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, almost seemed taken aback by the boos. He tried to ignore them, but they only grew louder the more he spoke.

There are a number of theories about why Hogan was given such a hostile reception. One is that fans in Los Angeles booed the 71-year-old because of his recent support of Donald Trump. However, The Undertaker is also a big Trump supporter, and he received an ovation when he made a surprise appearance on Monday night.

Whatever the reason, that was unexpected. Hogan is arguably the most recognizable figure in wrestling history. If the WWE thought he was going to be showered in boos, they probably would not have given him such a big appearance in Netflix’s first ever “Raw” broadcast.
