Ric Flair has surgery postponed due to ‘complications’
Ric Flair got some good news from doctors after being rushed to the hospital on Thursday, but the WWE legend’s wife says a procedure he was supposed to have on Friday has been rescheduled due to “complications.”
Wendy Barlow issued a statement to TMZ updating fans on Flair’s health, and she said he will now have to wait until Monday to undergo a surgical procedure.
“Ric’s surgery has been postponed until Monday to address some complications that needed to be taken care of first,” Barlow said. “Thanks for all the well wishes.”
Flair, 70, was rushed to the emergency room this week because of an undisclosed health issue that was said to be serious. Barlow offered a positive update about her husband on Thursday evening, but any talk of “complications” is always a concern.
Flair has dealt with numerous health issues over the past two years, and he was placed in a medically induced coma in August 2017 after his intestine ruptured. He needed extensive surgery to remove part of his bowels and also had a pacemaker inserted. Barlow said at the time that it was a “miracle” Flair recovered. Following the health scare in 2017, Flair opened up about his issues with alcohol abuse and the serious health problems years of drinking have caused.
