JB Shuck makes amazing catch to rob Jose Bautista of HR
J.B. Shuck made an amazing catch in left field to rob Jose Bautista of a home run during the fourth inning of the Los Angeles Angels-Toronto Blue Jays game on Friday night.
Bautista took a pitch from Tommy Hanson deep to left, and Shuck tracked the high fly ball down the line. He perfectly timed his leap to catch the ball over the 330 mark, and he went so far over the fence that he fell into the stands.
Blue Jays manager John Gibbons came out to talk to the umpires about the play. It’s unclear whether he was asking if Shuck could jump over the fence and still get credit for robbing the ball, or whether his runner at first would be able to tag up and go to second. The umpires allowed runner Maicer Izturis to move up a base, but the Jays lost a 2-run home run thanks to Shuck.
