Jose Reyes apologized for hitting Alex Cobb with line drive (GIFs)
Unfortunately, we have witnessed a few scary incidents in recent years involving pitchers being hit by line drives. Brandon McCarthy, J.A. Happ, Alex Cobb, and Aroldis Chapman are a few who were unable to get out of the way of batted baseballs and sustained head injuries.
Cobb suffered a mild concussion last year after taking a line drive off the right ear. On Tuesday, the 26-year-old again was hit, this time on his backside.
In one of those moments of sportsmanship that’s always good to see, Jose Reyes offered an apology for his unintentional striking.
At some point really soon Alex Cobb has to ask himself “Why does this keep happening to me?” Right?
