Ja Morant appears to be all-in on Operation South Beach.
The Memphis Grizzlies star point guard Morant recently purchased a $3.2 million home in Miami, Fla., Damichael Cole of the Memphis Commercial Appeal reported on Wednesday. According to property records, Morant was listed on Dec. 23, 2025 as the executor of a trust that purchased the home.
Interestingly enough, the home sits just four miles (a roughly 20-minute drive) away from the Heat home arena of Kaseya Center in Miami, Fla. You can read Cole’s full report on the situation here.
It goes without saying that multi-millionaire athletes will almost always own multiple properties, including ones in desirable locations such as Miami. But the timing here for Morant is certainly interesting.
The two-time All-Star Morant is unhappy with the Grizzlies and is looking like a probable trade candidate before the Feb. 5 deadline. Earlier this week, we also learned that Morant is looking to be traded to the Heat in particular.
While Morant’s property purchase in Miami came several weeks ago, he had already sparked trade rumors as early as last November after a confrontation with Grizzlies head coach Tuomas Iisalo. The Heat do also have plenty of salary filler and quality young players to offer Memphis, including Tyler Herro and Andrew Wiggins in the former category and Jaime Jaquez Jr., Nikola Jovic, and (less likely trade chip) Kel’el Ware in the latter category. As such, the Morant-Miami links may not be going away any time soon.
