Allen Iverson shirt a tribute to Moses Malone, Darryl Dawkins
Allen Iverson wore an absolutely fantastic T-shirt to the Philadelphia 76ers’ draft party on Thursday. The shirt was one custom made by Iverson, and it featured former Sixers legends Moses Malone and Darryl Dawkins.
Dawkins played seven seasons for the Sixers from 1975-1982 and died last August. Malone played with Philly from ’82-’86 and died last September at age 60.
“They meant everything to me because I knew them as people,” Iverson said of his shirt in an interview with ESPN’s Kevin Neghandi. “I knew how great they were and I know how it hurt me. But they’re going to a better place and they don’t have to suffer anymore. I had to try to fill all of the shows of all of the greats, and there was a lot of pressure on me. And I was able to do that. So I just know God is good.”
