Arron Afflalo traded to Portland in five-player deal
Arron Afflalo was traded by the Denver Nuggets along with Alonzo Gee to the Portland Trail Blazers on Thursday hours before the trade deadline expires.
Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski first reported the trade and says Portland is sending a future first and second-round pick, Thomas Robinson, Victor Claver, and Will Barton to the Nuggets.
Afflalo is considered a high character player whose specialty is outside shooting. He has shot 45.5 percent from the field for his career, including 38.4 percent on 3-pointers. He will give the Blazers another weapon as a sixth man off the bench and he should be able to help create spacing on the floor.
Portland is 36-17 and tied for the third-best record in the West. They are looking to solidify their roster for a playoff run.
