And just like that, the masses have turned against Jeremy Lin. Last month, Lin was a story everyone could feel good about. He was an Ivy League kid who injected life into a struggling Knicks team that came close to releasing him just a few days prior. Now, Bull fans are chanting “overrated” at him.
Lin may not be a 30-plus point-scorer anymore or the only person in New York who is guaranteed to have the ball in his hands in a tie game with the clock winding down, but he is still an inspiration even to young Yankees players. While he has cooled down from his amazing start, Jeremy has still scored 14 or more points in each of the Knicks’ last seven games, including 15 points and 8 assists in Monday’s loss to Chicago. Nobody is saying he’s Kobe Bryant. It’s the story and the stats that are impressive — not just the numbers themselves.
