Did Delonte West unload on LeBron James?
Delonte West and LeBron James have a long and complicated history with one another, and it may have taken another strange turn Monday night.
Unless, of course, people are being duped by a fake Twitter account.
The following tweets that West or someone posing as West sent about LeBron have created quite the buzz:
There are a lot of reasons to believe that was not really West. For starters, a fake Delonte Twitter account has thrown shade at LeBron in the past. West’s old Twitter account, which has been inactive for over two years, has nearly 100,000 followers. The one you see above had less than 4,000 at the time this post was being written, and that number has probably gone up substantially in the past 12 hours.
We know there have been some ugly rumors in the past about West and LeBron’s mom, but West said earlier this year that James saved his life several years ago when the two were teammates with the Cavaliers.
“He sat with me in the locker room for like an hour and was rapping it up with me by giving me words of encouragement,” West told Chris Haynes of Northeast Ohio Media Group. “Keep in mind, practice was still going on. He left practice and sat with me for a while, just keeping me company. He later walked me down the stairs and said, ‘D, I don’t know where you’re going or what you’re about to do, but I’ll be right here when you get back.’
“My spirits were so high at that point. I don’t know what would have happened had I left in the condition I was in prior. It’s a testament to the type of person he is.”
Why would West suddenly have a change of heart out of nowhere? He probably wouldn’t. Our guess is the tweets are fake. And even if they aren’t, West could easily just claim they are.
