Kid tells Heat ‘good effort, good job’ after Game 5 loss (Video)

After losing at home in Game 5 of the Eastern Conference finals to the Celtics 94-90, the Heat were encouraged by a young fan who told them “good effort, good job,” as they were walking off the floor in Miami.

The kid became an instant hit. Soon after his encouraging words were heard on TV, the video seen above spread across the Internet.

The phrase “good effort” became a trending topic on Twitter. Even a parody Twitter account called “Good Job Kid” was created, and it amassed over a thousand followers in an hour.

The only question is if the young fan was sarcastically taunting the Heat, or genuinely trying to encourage them. We believe it was the latter.

UPDATE: The fan has been identified as 9-year-old Jack Meyer.

I heard that as Lebron walked into the tunnel. I was thinking a Good Effort was not what these guys are here for! They are supposed to WIN. I am sure the players felt she was mocking them!

Sounds like the kid was just saying what they hear when they play sports from there coaches. Gotta love kids and their pure intentions.

Listen to this kid yelling, “good job, good effort” as the Heat leave the floor after one of their most crushing loses in team history.

I really, really hope this kid is a Celtics fan. If he is, this is one of the greatest taunts of all time. If he is a Heat fan, then he is one of the most pathetic fans of all time.

Hope he wasn’t talking to Chris Bosh…. who literally was worthless on D and had the lowest plus/minus on the team, yet Spoelstra is being told left and right to play him more… ridiculous.

Calling a child “the most pathetic fan of all time” makes you pathetic, DJ.  Its called sportsmanship and kids are supposed to learn in it when they first play sports.  Trolls like you epitomize all that is WRONG with sports today.

That team needs a coach and will never win until they get one… I am a miami fan, but Spolstra got out coached last year in the finals and Doc Rivers is kicking his ass thid year.
