LeBron James: I Would Beat Kobe One-on-One, Game Will Never Happen (Video)

It’s always fun to think about how superstars match up against each other individually. Despite the fact that they never actually face one another, people love to play the Peyton Manning vs. Tom Brady card. With that in mind, we can understand why speculating about one-on-one match-ups is more fun in basketball — where they could feasibly happen.

A couple weeks ago, a number of NBA players were asked who they thought would win a one-on-one pickup game between Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.  For a variety of reasons, most of the players picked Kobe.  King James does not agree.  In fact, this is the last time he’s going to comment on the subject.  Check out this video from the Orlando Sentinel:

LeBron may be willing to go up against Kevin Durant in a flag football game, but he’s clearly not interested in finding out who would win a game between the world’s 1A and 1B basketball players.  Obviously there are plenty of reasons the game would never happen, but why is LeBron so annoyed with the question? Does it really bother him that people think Kobe would win?  Given his reputation as an egomaniac, we certainly have no reason to doubt it.

Chest bump to Jocks and Stiletto Jill for passing the video along.
