Warren Sapp: Pretty Boy LeBron James Would Never Make it in NFL

As tired as I’ve grown of hearing people talk about LeBron James playing football, this was just too funny to pass up.  With Jalen Rose appearing as a guest panelist on the NFL Network’s No Huddle on Wednesday night, the topic of LeBron possibly taking his talents to the NFL arose.  Jalen danced around the subject a bit before ultimately concluding that football would be “too physical” and “too demanding” to make the transition, but Warren Sapp was hardly as generous when talking about King James and the NFL.

“How about LeBron do one-sixth of what (Michael) Jordan did, let’s see him go win a championship,” Sapp said according to the USA Today. “Go do that. Go see if you can conquer your sport before you come over here because them boys on defense, we like pretty boys like that. We want to split them.”

Maybe a little dramatic with the tough guy act from Warren, but he’s certainly right.  It’s easy to be one of the strongest guys on the basketball court, but LeBron would get smacked around in the NFL by guys who are just as big as him but hit people for a living.  Maybe he’d haul in a great pass down the middle of the field, but the fun would end when he got lit up by a guy like Ed Reed.

Then again, after watching Tebow Time on Thursday night and knowing LeBron has an open invitation from Tebow to join the Broncos, perhaps Timmy can turn him into an NFL winner.

Chest bump to I Am a GM for passing the story along.
