UCLA lost out on a share of the regular season title by losing to Washington State and Arizona State at home and followed that up by losing to USC at Staples. Thus, the Bruins could not even win in Los Angeles. The regular season body of work gives the top seeded teams a travel advantage that they earned the hard way (with the annual exception, of course, of Duke). Sadly, if the Bruins had a better team and had been able to take care of business in Los Angeles as they had in the past, they would not have had to go to Philadelphia.
