Several brands tried to capitalize on the viral moment of Luis Suarez biting Giorgio Chiellini during Uruguay’s World Cup win over Italy on Tuesday. Nobody did it better than Snickers.
Here is the tweet the candy bar company sent:
Hey @luis16suarez. Next time you're hungry just grab a Snickers. #worldcup #luissuarez #EatASNICKERS pic.twitter.com/3RAO537HjW
— SNICKERS® (@SNICKERS) June 24, 2014

How many of you wanted a bite of that rectangle of deliciousness after that tweet?
They weren’t the only ones who knocked it out of the park. This was sent by McDonald’s Uruguay:
Hola @luis16suarez, si te quedaste con hambre vení a darle un mordisco a una BigMac ;)
— McDonald's Uruguay (@McDonalds_Uy) June 24, 2014
That was them telling Suarez they’d give him a Big Mac if he were still hungry.
Whataburger and Trident made the honorable mention category for their efforts.
If only Suarez had Whataburger before the game he wouldn't be so hungry.

Chew Trident. Not soccer players. #ITAvsURU

That was too easy not to at least get something going by the brands’ respective social media teams. High-fives all around.
