Antonio Cromartie says he did not get a vasectomy

Antonio CromartieOn Tuesday, Antonio Cromartie addressed one of the most critical and pressing sports stories of the past week.

The New York Jets cornerback joined Jay Mohr Sports on FOX Sports Radio and was asked whether it was true that he got a vasectomy in 2011.

“Nah, nah, nah. Definitely not. Nah,” Cromartie said while laughing.

The word about Cromartie having the vasectomy emerged last week in a story from the New York Post. The Post said that in his new book about spending a season with the Jets, Nicolas Dawidoff shares that Cromartie told him he got snipped. Cromartie denied that.

Whether Cromartie had a vasectomy or not, at least he did confirm in the interview that he still has 10 children.

Also in the interview with Mohr, Cromartie also expressed his distrust of the media. He shared his thoughts about the media when asked about the investigation of Jameis Winston regarding an alleged sexual assault case.

“To me you can’t go by what the media says because the media never has the full inside scoop on anything,” Cromartie told Mohr. “They only get bits and pieces of what’s being put out by different sources. And different sources are going to tell you something different every single week or day. For him, this just happened to come out when he was hot, playing good and having a chance to go to the national title game and win the Heisman. I don’t understand it. If it was going to come out, it should have came out last December.”

While Cromartie makes a fair point about the media concerning the Winston case, I’m really wondering how Dawidoff possibly could have gotten the vasectomy story wrong. Either Dawidoff lied about the quote, Cromartie lied when he told Dawidoff he had a vasectomy, or Cro is lying now.
