Arthur Blank gives Dan Quinn vote of confidence

Dan Quinn

Atlanta Falcons owner Arthur Blank is still supporting head coach Dan Quinn despite the team’s six-game losing streak.

“I’ve got complete confidence in Dan,” Blank told ESPN’s Vaughn McClure after Sunday’s game. “He’s going to be a great head coach for us for many years.”

Following a 5-0 start to the season that included an impressive win over the Dallas Cowboys and a 48-point outburst against the Houston Texans, the Falcons completely tanked. They have not scored more than 21 points since Week 5, and that was after they looked like one of the hottest offenses in the league.

Sunday’s loss to division rival Carolina 38-0 no doubt has the team boiling. There’s no way Blank isn’t questioning his team’s hire of Quinn given the losing streak and utter collapse against the Panthers.

It might be too early for Blank and Atlanta to make a head coaching switch after signing Quinn to a five-year deal, but they might want him to at least make some changes, which could include firing offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan, whose system doesn’t seem to be working.
