DeAndre Hopkins won’t wear Yeezy cleats again after being fined by NFL
While the NFL chose not to fine several players across the league who wore cleats honoring the victims of 9/11, the same could not be said for Houston Texans wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins.
Hopkins, who wore a pair of Kayne West-designed Yeezy 350 cleats during the Texans’ Week 1 matchup against the Chicago Bears, was slapped with a $6,076 fine for his uniform transgression on Thursday.
According to the NFL rulebook, game-worn cleats must have “one dominant base color,” which Hopkins’ Yeezy’s most certainly did not.

Asked on Thursday if he would wear the cleats again and risk another fine, Hopkins told the Associated Press he wouldn’t unless “Kanye wants to pay” it for him.
The cleats were originally a gift from West and Adidas, who signed Hopkins to multi-year deal earlier this offseason.
Adidas officially listed the cleats for sale on Thursday morning, and they allegedly sold out within minutes.
