Many of us are probably wondering how Mark Sanchez is still in the NFL based on how he performed in his most recent stints as a starter. But guess what? One coach might be eager about the New York Jets cutting him in the near future, as is expected.
“We’d take Sanchez,” a coach told the New York Post. “He’d be the starter as soon as he walked in the door for us.”
How bad must your QB situation be if you say Sanchez would be your starter? Or was that a quote planted by Sanchez’s agent?
Sanchez is coming off shoulder surgery and the Jets would save over $8 million against the salary cap if they cut him. Everyone expects them to do that.
I have just one question for this coach and anyone else considering signing him: if you wouldn’t want him starting for you, why would you want him as a backup? I certainly wouldn’t, which is why I don’t understand this.
