Nate Burleson given year’s supply of free pizza
Detroit Lions wide receiver Nate Burleson has been out since Week 4 with a broken arm. Burleson suffered the injury during a frightening car accident. It was later revealed that the 32-year-old crashed his car when he was trying to save a box of pizza from falling off the passenger seat, which is a unique story that even Nate has made fun of himself over.
If Burleson likes DiGiorno pizza, he must be glad he shared his embarrassing tale. On Sunday, Burleson revealed that DiGiorno sent him a free year’s supply of coupons for frozen pizzas.
“Hello Nate, We hope you are feeling better after your recent car accident and are on the road to recovery,” the letter read, via ESPN.com. “DiGiorno Pizza understands the challenges that come with carry out and delivery pizza so we’re sending you a gift along with a year supply of DiGorno pizza so you can skip carry out.”
A year’s supply of pizza is a small price to pay for the advertising DiGiorno is getting. Someone in their PR department deserves a gold star.
