The New Orleans Saints have the worst defense in the NFL, and it was only a matter of time before the man who is in charge of it lost his job.
According to Alex Marvez of FOX Sports, the Saints have informed defensive coordinator Rob Ryan that he will be fired in the wake of an embarrassing loss to the Washington Redskins.
The Saints, who finished the 2014 season ranked 31st in total defense, have somehow managed to get worse this year. They are allowing a league-high 31.5 points and 424.7 yards per game. Over the past two weeks, New Orleans allowed Eli Manning, Marcus Mariota and Kirk Cousins to throw for a combined 1,056 yards, 14 touchdowns and no interceptions.
Shockingly, we have not seen any of these types of heated exchanges between Ryan and Saints head coach Sean Payton this season. Perhaps Payton knew Ryan was a dead man walking.
