Watch: Seahawks convert fake punt from own two-yard line
The Seattle Seahawks struggled to put the Detroit Lions away on Sunday, but finally did so with a very gutsy fake punt from deep within their own territory.
The Seahawks led Detroit by two touchdowns with a little over two minutes to go, but were forced to punt from their own two-yard line. Nobody seemed to be anticipating a fake, especially on the Lions, but punter Michael Dickson took off essentially from the back of his end zone and managed to run for the first down.

That’s a pretty brutal way for the Lions to lose, and a pretty big risk by Pete Carroll. The Seahawks were heavily favored to close out the game no matter what, and even with a safety they’d still have been up by two scores. That doesn’t make it any less risky.
