Michigan’s Spike Albrecht thanks Kate Upton for coming to the championship

Kate-Upton-MichiganMonday night’s NCAA national championship game between Louisville and Michigan was one of the best NCAA Tournament finals in recent history. There were points throughout the night where it felt like neither team could miss a shot, which kept the game close until the last couple minutes of play.

One of those players who could not seem to miss was Wolverines guard Spike Albrecht, who drained the first four three-pointers he took before finally missing one. He finished 4-for-5 in the loss to the Cardinals and 9-for-10 for the tournament. The freshman was clearly carrying a ton of confidence with him throughout The Dance, which probably helps explain why he decided to make a pass at Kate Upton when it was over.

Upton, who says her family is loaded with Michigan fans, was spotted wearing Wolverine colors before the game tipped off. She insisted she was single back in February and denied that she is dating a certain MLB pitcher, so you can’t be mad at Albrecht for trying. The 20-year-old was likely feeling down after losing such a huge game, and I know just looking at Upton has cheered me up before when I’m feeling blue.

Let’s just hope Spike doesn’t get the same reaction this NHL player got when he tried to interact with the swimsuit model on Twitter.
