Tom Brady over cold that plagued him

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has been battling an illness for much of the week leading up to the Super Bowl, but it appears he is feeling much better.

Shortly after noon on Sunday, Albert Breer of NFL Network reported that Brady has recovered from the sniffles.

“I’m told Patriots QB Tom Brady has gotten past the cold that garnered so much attention,” Breer wrote on Twitter. “And (by the way), he’s heard the criticism.”

The last part may be the most important.

We know Brady is going to play and we know the team has been treating his head cold around the clock. If we all had the same resources available to us that NFL players have, we’d get over the common cold much faster, too.

When Brady downplays the affect the cold will have on his performance, we believe him. When he downplays the whole Deflategate scandal, we aren’t buying it. Brady’s integrity has been called into question. Some have labeled him a cheater without even hearing any facts regarding what actually happened to the game balls before and during the AFC Championship Game.

Brady has always managed to keep a chip on his shoulder. Given the latest report we shared with you about Deflategate, it sounds like it is legitimately possible that the 37-year-old veteran was wrongly accused. If that’s the case, Brady has a chance to prove the doubters wrong again.
