Yeremiah Bell: Bills Laid Down After We Started Putting it to Them

It wasn’t long ago when the Miami Dolphins were winless, pathetic, and saying that they stunk. They’ve now win three in a row, and before that, they blew two big leads against the Broncos and Giants. They’re playing much better ball than people realize. Safety Yeremiah Bell, who leads the team in tackles, says the team’s hard-hitting caused the Bills to lay down in Miami’s 35-8 win.

“In the first half, when we jumped on them, the way the game was going and the way they were playing, they laid down,” Bell said after the win. “We were putting a hat to them and flying all over the place.

“When we don’t make mistakes, we execute, and everybody’s in the right spot, we’re a pretty good defense. We did that [Sunday], and I feel they laid down.”

That could be overstating things, but who are we to doubt them? It could just be that Miami’s defense was good — the way it has been lately — and Buffalo just struggled. Chan Gailey said his team’s offense was pitiful. Was it because they laid down, or just because nothing worked? Or is the same thing? I think it’s different.

It’s funny to see a team that, according to Reggie Bush, stunk a month ago, now saying they’re causing opponents to lay down. Let’s just hope that Bell doesn’t apologize for his statement, the way this guy did after accusing his opponent of quitting.
