It really is funny the way stories can run their course depending on how publishing outlets present them. For instance, all it takes is one sports site to throw out a blurb on Tiger having a “new girlfriend” and then all the other gossip sites jump on it. The original report says 22-year-old Alyse Lanti Johnson, who attends Northwood University and appeared to have played volleyball at the University of New Hampshire, has been dating Tiger for a few months. None of their information indicates that is Tiger’s girlfriend, and from what we know about the man, he’d be extremely unlikely to have an exclusive girlfriend. Plus, their info alone says the two are only dating.
On top of that, a nugget from Radar Online denies that Johnson and Tiger are dating. They write that Alyse “sent a BBM to a mutual friend … saying she didn’t consider herself Tiger’s girlfriend. They were just having a good time hooking up.” That’s about what I would expect.
So Tiger getting with some 22-year-old girl means that’s his girlfriend? Not in my book. Now if we’re going to start playing the game of naming everyone he’s photographed with as his girlfriend, then I’m not really interested in playing. After all, if we qualified anyone who had a fling with Tiger as his girlfriend, we’d have to include this long list too:
