kenny brittKenny Britt is being sought by New Jersey police for questioning regarding an incident that led to his brother being stabbed Saturday night, The Tennessean reports.

According to Jim Wyatt of The Tennessean, the Titans wide receiver dropped off his brother at a hospital Sunday morning but was uncooperative with police. Police believe Britt was at the scene where his brother was stabbed.

The stab wound reportedly is on his brother’s back by his left arm and not considered a life-threatening injury.

According to The Tennessean, police were called to a party in Jersey City at 3:28 a.m. because of a reported stabbing that occurred during a fight. When police arrived, they found nothing wrong. They were later informed that Britt brought his brother into the hospital with a stab wound, leading them to believe Britt was involved. Police also say a gun shot rang out from the same place where the stabbing took place. The shot reportedly was fired after Britt went back to the house to pick up his girlfriend.

“They were all involved in an altercation. So they all knew each other and what was going on,’’ Jersey City Police Capt. Edgar Martinez told The Tennessean. “That’s why we want to talk to him. He was involved in the incident, both incidents. He was there during that time period. So we are looking to speak to him.”

Britt shared a photo of his brother on his Instagram account Sunday:

Kenny Britt was third in the league in receiving yards per game last season, but he’s leading the league in idiotic behavior.

You may recall that Britt was arrested in April last year for leading police on a car chase in New Jersey. Then he was charged in another incident the day after he pleaded guilty for the April offense. And last month, Britt was arrested for DUI at an army post. The DUI led to a meeting with the NFL that apparently did not go well, and now Britt is finding trouble with his own team.

Britt vented through his Instagram account on Wednesday about a fine he received from the Titans for missing an injury rehab session:

Unfortunate yet unsurprising news for the Titans today, as troubled wide receiver Kenny Britt found himself in handcuffs yet again after being charged with DUI at a military installation early Friday morning.

Britt reportedly was taking a female soldier back to Fort Campbell, an Army post on the border of Kentucky and Tennessee, when his vehicle was stopped at a gate outside of the premises. Guards became suspicious of Britt’s driving and conducted a field sobriety test, which confirmed their suspicions. He reportedly declined to take a Breathalyzer test.

Britt was held in custody, though for an unclear amount of time. He was released later in the day after being escorted out of the installation by MPs. His vehicle remains impounded on the post.

By now, Britt is probably used to being in handcuffs (in more ways than you’d think). This is his whopping eighth known brush with law enforcement since being drafted by the Titans in 2009.

When we last heard from Britt he was busy leading cops on a police chase last year then getting arrested for something totally different the day after appearing in court for said police chase.

Britt somehow managed to escape suspension by the league last season, despite being a multiple offender. Hard to see him not feeling the wrath of his buddy Roger Goodell this time.

Britney Spears is on her Femme Fatale Tour and the singer made a stop in Nashville Monday for a performance. Ordinarily we wouldn’t care about Spears being on tour, but something crazy happened at the concert. Somehow Titans receiver Kenny Britt ended up being handcuffed on stage:

If any NFL athlete would get pulled up on stage to get handcuffed at a Britney Spears concert, it would be Britt. He’s the same guy who was arrested for leading police on a car chase and then was charged with resisting arrest a day after his careless driving plea. Oh yeah, he’s also the same dude who said he was retiring from the NFL before claiming his Facebook profile was hacked. Only Kenny Britt. Though we must say this is probably his best performance since week 7 against the Eagles.

Tennessee Titans receiver Kenny Britt has been in the news more than any other player during the lockout, and for all the wrong reasons. In April he took police on a car chase before walking away from the car and denying it was him. Then the day after he pleaded guilty to careless driving, he was charged with resisting arrest. Something must have happened on Monday because Britt wrote on his facebook that he was going to retire from the NFL. Here’s a picture of his status posting via cazzball on twitter:

That post has been deleted and Britt reportedly apologized on Facebook, but his comments about Goodell are already out there. I have no idea what prompted his posting and I don’t believe for a second he’s going to retire, but he only has himself to blame for his problems. Maybe he was told he’ll be facing a suspension when the season gets underway. It really is a shame that Britt keeps getting into trouble because he was one of the best receivers in the NFL when healthy last season, and he’s letting all his talent go to waste. Just like another guy about whom we just wrote.

UPDATE: Britt deleted the post and claimed he was hacked. According to Newark Star-Ledger writer Brendan Prunty, Britt followed up on Facebook writing:

Change of HEart.. My family is always here for me. I made mistakes and i am sorry i am going to change and become a better person and mentor for all my young fans.. I will accept any penalty like a man.. my fbook was hacked with those past 2 status’s.. i am not retiring and do not have any hate toward the commissioner.”

It sounds as if Britt’s handlers got a hold of him quickly and encouraged the apology and excuse. It also sounds like Britt’s post was made out of frustration over a potential conversation with Roger Goodell regarding possible punishments for his off-field arrests.

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Kenny Britt was sacked by the LBS Nut Bag in April for his police chase in New Jersey. It was the sort of tale that would make Mr. Toad jealous as it featured equal parts of high speeds, drug use, and typical denial. On Tuesday, Britt pleaded guilty to careless driving (that’s one heck of a euphemism for leading cops on a chase … but I digress). Now here’s the best part: a day after his guilty plea, the dude got into some more trouble.

According to The Jersey Journal, Britt was arrested and charged with tampering with evidence, obstructing a government function and resisting arrest. He allegedly crushed a cigar containing marijuana in order to hide it from police before he was collared. Here are the specific details from the event:

If we were taking bets on which NFL wide receiver would be the next one to get arrested, I’m pretty sure I would have thrown money on Kenny Britt. If you run such a deranged pool, step on down because you can now collect your winnings. FOXSports.com reported late Tuesday evening that Tennessee Titans receiver Kenny Britt was arrested on three charges after leading police on a chase in his hometown of Bayonne, New Jersey.

A sergeant at the Bayonne police department confirmed the arrest to LBS and told us Britt was charged with eluding a police officer (a felony), lying to an officer hindering apprehension, and obstructing governmental function (both misdemeanors). According to the police report which was described to LBS over the phone, Britt was doing 71mph in a 50-mph zone when an officer tried to stop his vehicle. Britt, who was driving a blue Porsche, kept driving and began weaving in and out of traffic. He later exited the freeway, and when police caught up to the vehicle, both Britt and his passenger were walking away from the car.
