Cleveland Browns wide receiver Kenny Britt got the opposite of an endorsement from his head coach on Monday.
Britt had just three catches for 52 yards in Cleveland’s loss to Cincinnati on Sunday, with bad routes and dropped passes becoming an alarming part of the norm. Coach Hue Jackson noticed, and on Monday, he more or less said that Britt would have been benched had Cleveland’s receiver depth not been hit by injuries.

When your coach is more or less admitting that your presence on the field is counterproductive, you have a problem. Jackson has been trying to get more out of Britt all season, but the results aren’t there. The wide receiver is in the first year of a four-year deal with the Browns, but his leash as a starter sounds remarkably short.
