Urban Meyer’s daughter Nicki’s boyfriend is Georgia Tech WR Corey Dennis

Urban Meyer’s oldest daughter, Nicki, has been dating a Georgia Tech football player for at least the past year, but somehow that escaped me until now.

Nicki Meyer turns 23 on Friday (happy early birthday, Nicki!), and she tweeted about receiving a surprise birthday present from her boyfriend, Corey Dennis:

The photo links to a purse Dennis got Meyer. Dennis got some crap from Nicki’s mom, Shelley, for enabling the young lady’s purse addiction, though he got props from Nicki’s younger sister, Gigi. The series of tweets was the first time I realized Nicki has been dating the football player.

As far as we can tell, the two have been together since at least the middle of last year. Nicki’s Instagram account only goes as far back as last October. Dennis was a big factor in the account by then:

Nicki was a star volleyball player at Buchholz High School in Gainesville, where she graduated in 2008. She attended Georgia Tech and played four seasons for the Yellow Jackets as a defensive specialist/libero. She appears to have graduated from school this year.

Corey is a junior wide receiver at Georgia Tech and nearly two years younger than Nicki. The Auburn, Ala. native turned 21 in July. According to his Georgia Tech bio, Dennis played wide receiver for two seasons in high school and served as a dual-threat quarterback in his senior year. Dennis played as a true freshman for the Georgia Tech football team in 2011. Most of his action over the past two seasons has come on special teams. He has returned one punt this season.

Somewhere deep down we always thought Nicki would end up with Tim Tebow. It seemed like the perfect couple — handsome, Christian football player marries coach’s beautiful, Christian daughter. But Dennis is the one who has snagged the young lady’s heart for now, and they seem really happy. Congratulations to both of them. And now when we see Georgia Tech football games on TV, we’ll keep a special eye out to see if Nicki Meyer’s boyfriend gets into the game!
