Alex Cora explains why he was laughing at Nunez over HBP
Alex Cora came out to check on one of his players after a hit by pitch on Monday, but he didn’t exactly come to console him.
Eduardo Nunez was hit by a pitch in the top of the 12th inning of Boston’s 2-0 win over Baltimore on Monday night. Red Sox manager Alex Cora checked on him but ended up laughing.

After the game, Cora explained his seeming uncaring display.
When Nunez was hit in the stomach by that slider in the 12th, he was doubled over saying, "Oh my god, I think I'm going to die," and Cora started cracking up.
"He was laughing at me," Nunez said. "Then I started laughing. But it still hurt."

What helped is that the Red Sox scored runs on the next two at-bats to take the lead. Maybe Nunez’s words helped loosen up the Sox.
