Alex Rodriguez has returned from his one-year suspension and is back to playing for the New York Yankees, but his legal situation has not yet been fully resolved.

According to the NY Daily News, Rodriguez is expected in court for a deposition on April 24 after he was served two documents related to his alleged refusal to pay $380,059 in legal fees. One of the firms that counseled A-Rod when he was fighting his suspension in 2013 claims the slugger has not squared up.

One of the legal issues deals with a woman named Desiree Perez, who is an influential figure at Jay Z’s Roc Nation Sports agency. Rodriguez previously admitted that Perez advised him during the battle with Major League Baseball and told him not to make law firm Gordon, Rees, Scully & Mansukhani sue him for legal fees he supposedly owes.

Gordon, Rees, Scully & Mansukhani claims the amount A-Rod was billed was less than the projected costs they provided him with before they began working together. Sports attorney David Cornwell, who was part of the firm at the time, represented Rodriguez between May 2013 and January 2014.

The most recent court papers A-Rod has been served seek for him to admit that he at no point expressed dissatisfaction with the work Cornwell or the firm did. The relationship between Rodriguez and Cornwell reportedly ended shortly before A-Rod met with the Drug Enforcement Agency and gave up all kinds of juicy information.

Obviously, A-Rod has the money. This battle has been ongoing since last year. Rodriguez makes $380,059 in roughly four games with the Yankees.
