The Los Angeles Dodgers’ acquisition of Tarik Skubal from the Detroit Tigers has a lot of baseball fans convinced that they are, at the bare minimum, headed back to the World Series. One official X account may have leaned a bit too far into the hype, however.
The official account for Metro Los Angeles, the city’s transportation system, hopped into the discourse on Sunday morning after the Dodgers pulled off the blockbuster trade. The account reposted the trade announcement, and added its own comment that basically wrote the Dodgers into the World Series already.

Admirable confidence or tempting fate? The replies were largely divided, though plenty of Dodger fans were fearing a jinx. The Dodgers have a ways to go before they can think about playing in the Fall Classic, though they are undoubtedly the favorites to do so.
It would be pretty wild for a baseball team to be hexed by a transit authority’s social media activity. On the other hand, if Alex Rodriguez couldn’t get the Yankees two years ago with something much more overt, the Dodgers are probably safe from this.
