Authorities in Los Angeles have made a decision regarding Julio Urias’ domestic violence case.
Urias was arrested after getting physical with a woman outside BMO Stadium in Los Angeles following the Sept. 3 soccer match between LAFC vs. Inter Miami. The report from the incident stated that he shoved a woman into a fence during an argument. You can read more details here.
The case was moved to the Los Angeles County District Attorneys’ office, which has decided against pursuing felony charges. Now the case will be moved to the city’s district attorney, where it will be considered for a potential misdemeanor charge.

Urias is a free agent for the first time after pitching for the Dodgers from 2016-2023. He went 20-3 in 2021 and followed that up by winning the ERA title in 2022 by going 17-7 with a 2.16 ERA. The 27-year-old southpaw fell off in 2023 and went 11-8 with a 4.60 ERA.
Though Urias has avoided felony charges, he could still be charged with a misdemeanor. He also could face discipline from MLB as a repeat offender. Urias was previously suspended 20 games for a misdemeanor domestic battery arrest in May 2019, though the woman in the case later told investigators that she fell.
