Brewers’ Jacob Misiorowski pulls off epic pitching feat not seen since 1900

Milwaukee Brewers rookie Jacob Misiorowski has had a historically hot start to his MLB career.

Last week, Misiorowski threw five hitless innings in his MLB debut against the St. Louis Cardinals. He rode that momentum hard on Friday in his start against the Minnesota Twins at Target Field in Minneapolis, Minn.

The 23-year-old righty tossed six perfect innings to start the contest. He looked virtually unhittable as Twins hitters looked completely out of sorts while trying to solve Misiorowski. Watch him turn Twins infielder Willi Castro into a pretzel with a ridiculous 96-mph slider inside.

Minnesota finally got to Misiorowski in the bottom of the seventh inning. Byron Buxton led off the inning with a walk before Matt Wallner ruined the no-hit bid with a two-run homer. The Brewers rookie was pulled from the contest as Milwaukee cruised to a 17-6 win.

Misiorowski may not have gotten a no-hitter or a perfect game, but he did etch his name in MLB history books. He became the first pitcher since 1900 to record more wins (2) than hits allowed (1) over his first two career starts.

UNBELIEVABLE: Jacob Misiorowski is the only MLB pitcher since 1900 to have more wins (2) than hits allowed (1) over his first 2 career starts.

Misiorowski also had himself the rare “hidden” no-hitter after throwing 11 straight scoreless innings spanning his first two stints on an MLB mound.

It’s not a bad start to a career for a player who entered the season ranked 66th in MLB’s prospect rankings.
