Bryce Harper thinks adversity is ‘exciting’ for Nationals
The Boston Red Sox completed a three-game sweep of the Washington Nationals on Wednesday, dropping the NL East favorites a game below .500 and a full 7.5 games behind the division-leading Atlanta Braves.
None of this is good news for a Nationals team that has lost five in a row and not particularly close to a playoff spot as it stands, even the wild card. Bryce Harper is undeterred, though. In the past, the Nationals have won the NL East fairly easily, and he thinks this sort of adversity is going to be “exciting.”
Harper: "We've never been in this position before, and I think it's an exciting time for us. In years past, we've won the division by a lot of games and we're able to be behind right now. I'm excited to get out there and test it."

They’re certainly going to be tested. They’re five games out of a wildcard spot, which is a lot, even with three months of the season left. They can’t wait too much longer to turn things around, or else this will be the only trophy Nationals fans get a look at this year.
