Now that spring training is in full swing, previously unsigned free agents are now beginning to accept deals. Jonathan Lucroy is the latest.
Lucroy and the Oakland A’s agreed to a one-year deal, MLB.com’s Jane Lee reported Friday.
The A’s will be hoping Lucroy can have a bounce-back season after batting .265 with just six home runs last season. Perhaps they were encouraged by Lucroy’s success after he was traded by the Rangers to the Rockies. He batted .310 with an .865 OPS in 46 games for Colorado.

The 31-year-old catcher is a two-time All-Star and career .281 hitter. He will likely split time with Bruce Maxwell at catcher for Oakland.
