David Price to start Game 5 for Red Sox
Alex Cora will once again turn to David Price to close out a playoff series.
Cora announced on Saturday night that David Price will start Game 5 of the World Series on Sunday with the Boston Red Sox needing one win to win the championship, even though Price will be on short rest.
Price was on the hill for Game 5 of the ALCS in Houston and helped Boston close out that series with a six-inning shutout in a 4-1 win. He pitched Game 2 of the World Series, allowing two runs over six innings for the win.
Chris Sale, who pitched in Game 1 of the series, was expected to start Game 5. Sale was hospitalized during the ALCS and did not look his best in Game 1.
Cora, having already seen Price win a Game 5 on the road, must feel like he’s a good option to end the series. He didn’t offer much of an explanation after the game except that they like Price on the road at Dodger Stadium.
Price starts tomorrow. Cora just dropped that bomb. Sale is fine, he said. They like Price in this park.

If it doesn’t work out, Sale will be able to pitch in Game 6 at Fenway Park.
Boston leads the series 3-1 against the Dodgers.
