Dellin Betances at least 6-7 weeks away from Yankees return
The New York Yankees will be without Dellin Betances for a while.
Betances was working his way back from a shoulder impingement that caused him to begin the season on the injured list. He hit a snag and didn’t feel well in a simulation game, so he went for an MRI.
Yankees GM Brian Cashman said Friday that Betances has a spur causing inflammation in his shoulder. The reliever will receive a cortisone shot and be shut down for three weeks, with a return to the club 6-7 weeks away.
