Even the Los Angeles Dodgers front office is looking absolutely stacked right now.

Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reported Friday that the Dodgers are hiring retired ex-MLB outfielder Raul Ibanez to join their front office. Ibanez will be receiving the title of VP of Baseball Development and Special Projects.

The 51-year-old Ibanez played primarily as a left fielder for 19 career MLB seasons from 1996-2014. He spent most of his time on the Seattle Mariners but played for the Kansas City Royals, Philadelphia Phillies (making an All-Star appearance with them in 2009), New York Yankees, and Los Angeles Angels too. Ibanez retired with a career batting average of .272 and 305 homers (tied for 153rd all-time).

In more recent years, Ibanez has already cut his teeth at the executive level. He had been a senior vice president of on-field operations for Major League Baseball since 2021 and also served as a special assistant for the Dodgers prior to that. Now the Dodgers are bringing Ibanez back, making him the latest of several former All-Stars to join their front office this offseason.
