Not even Los Angeles Dodgers manager Dave Roberts is immune to being impressed by Shohei Ohtani.
On Saturday, the 2-time AL MVP came up to the plate in the bottom of the 3rd inning with the Dodgers holding a 1-0 lead over the Los Angeles Angels. With a man on first and nobody out, Ohtani smashed a 2-0 slider from Angels starter Zach Plesac into the right field pavilion at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, Calif.

The 459-foot homer gave the Dodgers a 3-0 and also left Roberts in awe. The 52-year-old skipper mouthed a hearty “wow” as one camera panned toward him after Ohtani’s big fly.

Ohtani’s 3rd-inning bomb was his 23rd of the year. It was also his MLB-leading sixth home run that has gone at least 450 feet this season.
Ohtani has clearly been locked in against his former team. He also hit a 455-foot homer in the Dodgers’ 3-2 loss against the Angels on Friday.

But despite the Japanese superstar’s gaudy numbers and monster home runs, Ohtani still trails one surprising NL player in All-Star votes.
