Jacob deGrom leaves game with hyperextended right elbow
Jacob deGrom was forced to leave his start on Wednesday after four innings due to an injury to his pitching arm.
After leaving the field following the fourth inning, deGrom went down the tunnel to the clubhouse and reportedly looked upset.

The New York Mets later announced a hyperextended right elbow was the reason for deGrom not returning to the team’s game against the Atlanta Braves

deGrom had a strong outing prior to his exit. During his four innings of work he surrendered two hits, no runs, and had six strikeouts.
If deGrom is forced to miss a start (or more), a possible candidate to replace him in the starting rotation could be Matt Harvey, who was recently moved to the bullpen.
