The New York Mets are moving Matt Harvey to the bullpen.
Manager Mickey Callaway announced Saturday that Harvey would not make his next start and would instead shift to a relief role effective immediately.

Callaway says Harvey told him he is "pissed off" and "motivated" to show everybody he can still be a starter.

Perhaps this is the spark that Harvey needs to start getting back to where he used to be, but he really gave the Mets little choice. A six-run, six-inning performance led to doubts about his future as a starter, and that made his ERA an even six over his first four starts. Harvey has a 5.80 ERA in his last 40 games dating back to the start of 2016. He may be angry, but he doesn’t have much leverage, and the Mets had to make this move.
