Jeremy Hellickson reportedly drawing interest from multiple clubs
As the trade deadline hourglass continues to rapidly lose sand particles, a former Rookie of the Year could possibly be on the move.
According to a report by Jon Morosi of MLB Network on Monday, Phillies right-hander Jeremy Hellickson is drawing interest from multiple clubs, including the Detroit Tigers.
#Tigers focused on starting pitching market. Jeremy Hellickson, drawing interest from multiple clubs, is one name on their list. @MLB

Hellickson, 29, will become a free agent after the season and has pitched decently in 2016 despite working with a deficient Philadelphia offense. He holds an 8-7 record with a 3.70 ERA, a 1.15 WHIP, and 109 strikeouts in 22 starts. Hellickson is posting the highest K/BB ratio of his career and has been the ace of the Phillies staff this year.
A move away from the extremely pitcher-friendly Citizens Bank Park will probably hurt Hellickson. But a team like the aforementioned Tigers in need of middle-tier starters to fill out their rotation could find it a risk worth taking.
