Game 2 of the World Series appeared to jump the shark at one point.
On Saturday, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Toronto Blue Jays met for the second game of the 2025 World Series at Rogers Centre in Toronto, Ont. It was a thrilling pitcher’s duel during which Los Angeles’ Yoshinobu Yamamoto outlasted Toronto’s Kevin Gausman to help lead the Dodgers to a 5-1 victory and tie the series at 1-1.
But some of the game’s attention was siphoned away by an unlikely source — the Jonas Brothers. The pop trio made an appearance at Rogers Centre, performing after the fifth inning on the FOX TV broadcast as part of the “Stand Up To Cancer” campaign.

Fans were immensely confused about why a boy band was interrupting a World Series game to perform. Take a look at some of the posts skewering the Jonas Brothers over their bizarre mid-game cameo.

Baseball obviously doesn’t have halftime like basketball or football, so a mid-game performance was always going to be an awkward insertion. Viewers were also especially ticked that the Jonas Brothers came on during a World Series game that was at a pivotal moment (tied 1-1 at the time).
The Jonas Brothers, now all in their mid-30s, don’t usually intersect much with the sports world either, unless they are going golfing with Johnny Manziel. That only made Saturday’s spectacle in Game 2 of the World Series all the more bizarre.
