Jose Bautista seemingly frustrated with ALCS umpires

Jose Bautista

Jose Bautista on Sunday expressed frustration with the “circumstances” surrounding the ALCS, where his Toronto Blue Jays trial the Cleveland Indians 2-0 in the best of seven series.

Taking a closer look at Bautista’s comments Sunday, and it seems he is frustrated with the umpires. Here’s what the Jays stud outfielder had to say:

Toronto’s typically powerful offense was shutout in a Game 1 loss 2-0 and managed just one run in Game 2. Though it appears Bautista is putting this on the umpires, he should also give credit to Cleveland’s pitchers, which include Cy Young winner Corey Kluber, and arms like Andrew Miller, both of whom have been lights out.

If Bautista wants to put the blame on the umpires, then he’s probably looking at the wrong source as he tries to break out of an 0-for-14 slump over his past four games, which includes eight strikeouts. Yeah, those kinds of putrid numbers would have anyone venting.

The ALCS resumes on Monday, with Marcus Stroman pitching for the Jays against the Indians’ Trevor Bauer.
