Less than a month after Jose Canseco shot off his finger and was professing his love for his girlfriend Leila Knight for taking great care of him, the two have broken up.
Canseco tweeted on Sunday that the two split:
Leila and I have gone our separate ways.check back later and find out what happened

Given that Canseco had just lied about his finger falling off during a poker game, it was easy to dismiss the tweet as another hoax. But this breakup actually seems legit.
Las Vegas police told the New York Daily News that they responded to a call about a domestic disturbance at the Canseco home on Saturday.
“Officers responded to the residence and determined no crime had occurred,” Las Vegas police said in a statement.
Knight says Canseco went nuts on her Saturday night and began threatening her and her mom.
“He got into an argument with my mom when he called her. I’ve never seen him so upset in my life. My mom went off on him about a lot of different things he’s done to me,” Knight told the Daily News.
“He went absolutely ballistic,” Knight said. “I’ve never seen him be so aggressive. I was just trying to keep myself in the guest room. He kept coming in and getting in my face.”
Knight says Canseco was breaking down doors and that she locked herself in the bathroom where she was able to call the police. She says Canseco was threatening her life and that she is scared of him.
Knight told the News that she was upset with Canseco for recently agreeing to become the pitchman for a late-night “sleazy” Asian singles hookup company. Knight also says Canseco still regularly uses steroids.

Canseco and Knight have dated since 2008. They had a big issue in 2011 where Knight asked for a temporary restraining order against the former ballplayer. The two got back together and got engaged last year, but now it looks like they’re done for good.
