Son of Roger Clemens sues Texas bar over alleged bouncer assault

One of the sons of Roger Clemens is among two suing a Houston bar over an alleged assault on New Year’s Eve, according to a report.

KTRK in Houston says Kacy Clemens and Conner Capel, both minor league baseball players, filed a lawsuit on Wednesday against the Concrete Cowboy. They say they were singled out by workers and asked to move and complied. Despite that, they say bouncers tried to kick them out of the bar.

The men allege they were assaulted by bouncers and other staff members at the bar, causing severe injuries. Police who arrived on the scene allegedly found no evidence that Clemens or Capel were drunk.

The attorney for the men says another person was assaulted and hospitalized by a bar employee that night.

“The culture of Concrete Cowboy needs to be exposed for what it is – bouncers who make it their mission to brutalize and assault patrons who they perceive to not follow their orders. The bouncers picked on the wrong group of innocent young men in this instance and we intend to bring the employees, managers and owners of Concrete Cowboy to justice,” the attorney said, according to KTRK.

Kacy Clemens, 24, played at Texas from 2014-2017. He began his career as a pitcher and then switched to becoming a hitter mostly. He was drafted in the 8th round by the Blue Jays in 2017. Kacy has batted .246 with a .736 OPS in his two minor league seasons.

Capel, 21, was a 5th-round pick by the Cleveland Indians in 2016. He’s a career .246 hitter with a .729 OPS in the minors. Capel is Roger’s godson.
