Kevin Youkilis jokes about Bobby Valentine possibly being US Ambassador to Japan
Even in retirement, Kevin Youkilis is still finding ways to entertain us.
Word broke on Friday that President-elect Donald Trump is considering Bobby Valentine, Youkilis’ former manager with the Boston Red Sox, as the U.S. ambassador to Japan, where Valentine also managed for seven seasons.

The news prompted this classic reaction from the three-time All-Star Youkilis:
Looks like I won't be allowed to visit Japan for the next 4 years. ??? https://t.co/BCGnvpFWLh

Of course, Youkilis and Valentine didn’t exactly get along during their brief time together on the Red Sox in 2012 before Youkilis was traded midseason to the White Sox, and the bad blood even appeared to linger long afterwards.
Several years later, Youkilis can look back on his strained relationship with his ex-manager and have a good sense of humor about it. But if the rumors do wind up coming to fruition, The Greek God of Walks may have to put those Tokyo travel plans on hold for the time being.
